One-day courses

• Introduction to Choice Theory: Rethinking Discipline in School
  Trainer: Geraldine Rowe
  Helping students to gain self-control, personal discipline and responsibility for their own behaviour is a challenge for many teachers. A regime of rules, rewards and sanctions will not teach responsibility nor change the perceptions and behaviour of students who disrupt school and community life. Students need to be taught the skills and techniques of discipline and be given the chance to practice and improve these as with any other new skill. This one day course will give participants some techniques they can use to teach students how to be more responsible and ways to deal with conflict in their lives in a more productive and tolerant manner.  For a more in-depth training with skills practice, the 4-day course is recommended.

Short workshops and talks

• Practical Psychology: Understanding Behaviour
  ( parents, carers)
  Led by Chartered Psychologist Geraldine Rowe, this open workshop is an opportunity to learn or relearn some psychology and start to work on specific issues of your own choice. Whether you are a professional, volunteer, carer or parent or just want to learn more about what makes people tick, do phone to book a place. No forms or details required. Bring a pen and paper if you like to take notes.
